Sankofa Crude Oil, the latest brand of crude coming from Ghana's Sankofa-Gye Nyame Field, was launched in London on Monday by the project partners, Eni, Vitol and the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC).
The event was attended by officials from Ghana’s upstream regulator, Petroleum Commission and the downstream regulator, National Petroleum Authority (NPA). Both regulators congratulated the project partners on the milestones attained and reiterated their commitment to the project.
Speaking on behalf of GNPC, Dennis Baidoo said the project is of significance to Ghana and the national oil company, being the first gas-to-power project and assured investors it was well on course.
The event was well attended by Traders and had representatives from Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), UNIPEC, and Mitsui among others.
