I work as a Geophysicist at GNPC, playing a major role in acquisition of seismic field data and interpretation of processed seismic data for leads and prospect generation. I also contribute to reservoir analysis during appraisal and production phases of projects.
In the past nine (9) years, I have acquired experience in seismic acquisition planning and execution, basing assessment and prospect definition, and geophysical analysis of reservoirs.
One thing I like about GNPC is the culture of periodic training for staff. I have been a beneficiary of such training through secondments which further equipped me for my job. I have also been involved in industrial meetings which have given me adequate exposure in my field of work.

I have worked in GNPC for nearly 6 years.
Prior to joining GNPC, I had a BSc. Degree in Land Economy from KNUST, had qualified as a Valuation and Estate Surveyor duly registered with Ghana Institution of Surveyors (GhIS) and was at the final stage of being awarded an Executive Master of Business Administration Degree (EMBA) by Institute of Distance Learning (IDL), KNUST.
As a Principal Facilities Officer, my work at GNPC generally involves strategic planning and day-to-day operations in relation to corporate buildings, premises and facilities. Essentially my work entails facilities management, project management, space management, asset valuation, security management, lease/tenancy management, procurement facilitation and contract administration. Since joining GNPC, I have played coordinating roles in the delivery of a number of projects including the refurbishment of GNPC’s Club House, 4 corporate guest houses and development of 3 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) School Projects in the Western Region. I am currently coordinating the development process for the Corporation’s state of the art Research and Technology Centre project.
Generally, working at GNPC has increased my knowledge and understanding of public sector business practices and administration. It has also increased my experience and expertise in the development process for multi-million dollar development projects. I have succeeded in increasing my competence with every career challenge.
The Corporation has contributed immensely towards my career development by sponsoring my participation in a number career development trainings programs. My qualification as a Certified International Project Manager (CIPM) and recent acquisition of MSc. Degree in Facilities and Property Management from University of Westminster (UK) came at the back of GNPC’s commitment towards the development of employee capacity.
I like GNPC particularly for its commitment towards staff welfare and career advancement of its employees.
In three words I will describe GNPC as “Employer of Choice”
The quality that sticks out most about GNPC is its “Commitment towards employee welfare and career development”

I joined GNPC with a Specialist Masters from Cass Business School in Energy, Trade and Finance and Bachelors of Science in Economics and Finance from Oklahoma City University. I am currently a Marketer on the Crude Desk and been with the Marketing Department for about five years now.
My desk is responsible for attracting credit worthy buyers in buying the nation’s crude oil.
A typical day for me is tracking and recording cargoes in liaison with crude oil operators, daily update of prices and differentials of crude oil and refined products to help in achieving the best technical value of Jubilee crude oil, monitoring and record deal profitability, calculate, negotiate and settle claims and recoveries to enable timely payments of demurrages to counterparties.
I would also likely prepare lifting and production reports to State agencies and stakeholders.
My department is team driven and we operate in a way that puts collective goals over individuals’. Suggestions and positive criticism are taken in good faith which creates an energetic and fun environment to work in!
It’s been a learning experience for me considering the fact that I came in with little experience in the commodity market. I have gained the requisite skills in marketing crude barrels through the resources provided by the company and since GNPC is big on capacity building, individuals are given the necessary training to bridge the gaps to help the individual succeed in his or her work.
Managers and supervisors are also great in grooming their team so they can take leadership positions.
GNPC is amazing at always giving back and it can be seen in the CSR work which is done all the time. My proudest moment was when the Corporation donated a huge sum to the flood and fire victims in 2015. A disaster that brought the whole nation together.
GNPC is one awesome Corporation to work in!

I joined GNPC in late 2008, right at a time when work on the development of the Jubilee Field was in full swing. It has been quite an experience and never a dull moment.
I clearly remember going offshore for the first time.
Seeing all the equipment and participating in drilling a well, not as a desktop exercise, but in reality, and then subsequently visiting the FPSO Kwame Nkrumah to open a new production well was gratifying and for me, marked a significant stage of my professional development.
After over seven years of working and growing professionally in this organisation I can say it has been worth it. I have seen myself develop into a capable engineer with a deepened understanding of the Oil and Gas Industry in Ghana, especially given the Eagles view GNPC has of the industry. I certainly look forward to contributing my quota to make GNPC the world class oil company it seeks to become!
