The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), Headline Sponsor of GNPC Ghana’s Fastest Human, 2018 has called on all potential sprinters in the country, to enroll in this year’s sprint competition.
In a message, ahead of this year’s first Open Championship which takes place at the Tamale Sports Stadium on Sunday, April 29th, Dr. K. K. Sarpong, Chief Executive of GNPC has sent a goodwill message to the participants.
Excited about the upcoming event, Dr. Sarpong said, “GNPC is proud to be empowering the dreams of youthful Ghanaians once more, to discover their talents to become flagbearers of Ghana.
“We are confident that the success and opportunities that have come the way of some previous participants, would spur you on to come prepared to join the race to become champions.”
Four members of Ghana’s team to the recently-held Commonwealth Games in Australia, were previous winners and runners-up in the GNPC Ghana’s Fastest Human championships. They included the 2017 Champion, HorHalutie, who made it to the women’s 100-metres finals at the Games.
“At GNPC, we believe in the Reward of Merit, and therefore are hopeful that you would come prepared to make it to the finals and be rewarded accordingly,” Dr. Sarpong added.
He has additionally called on the public to take interest in the competition by trooping to the venues of the championships to cheer participants, who include potential national champions, on to victory. |
